Pump, trigger and dropper closures can extend beyond the bottle body, rotate, interlock or present a vulnerable actuator. The cartoner must reference stable bottle geometry and keep transfer forces away from the closure unless contact has been specifically approved and tested.
State the closure condition at the cartoner infeed: locked or unlocked trigger, pump rotation, dip-tube condition, protective clip, overcap, tamper feature and any permitted actuator movement. A bottle that stands reliably on a bench can still become unstable when the closure changes its centre of gravity or catches a neighbouring pack.
- Provide the maximum closure envelope, not only bottle diameter and height.
- Define the required orientation in the finished carton.
- Identify contact-sensitive actuator, nozzle, collar, overcap and decoration areas.
- State whether closures can rotate during transport or must be keyed before loading.
- Supply examples from normal production, including tolerated variation.
