Protect decoration and premium pack presentation

Cosmetic and personal-care bottle cartoning often places a high value on visible pack quality. The bottle may have a printed or pressure-sensitive label, sleeve, coating, pump, trigger, dropper or cap that restricts where guides and tooling can touch. The carton may use a premium board or finish that shows scuffs, pressure marks or poor flap alignment.

Define presentation requirements as observable acceptance criteria. Identify print-critical bottle and carton surfaces, the required bottle orientation, allowable movement inside the carton and the finished closure standard. Samples should include production decoration and closures because unlabelled bottles or plain test cartons may hide the real handling risk.

A vertical top-load system may reduce side-loading contact for some products, while a horizontal cartoner may be efficient when the bottle group is stable and the contact surfaces are acceptable. The choice should be confirmed through trials and the format-flexibility plan.

When the cartoner follows labelling, confirm that bottle orientation and label condition are stable at the transfer. The integration specification should define accumulation, inspection ownership and the response to a label or closure fault detected before cartoning.

A cosmetic bottle format includes the complete closure, overcap, decoration and required orientation—not just the bottle body. Projecting or rotating components can determine infeed support, grip position, carton clearance and whether top or end loading is appropriate.
